According TV Guide, the original Rebekah Mikaelson and the single best thing about the third season of The Vampire Diaries, Claire Holt, is returning to The Originals. Claire Holt will be reprising her role of Rebekah alongside the original Finn, Casper Zafer, in the third season premiere of The Originals.

Unfortunately this is not the start of steady or even recurring reappearance by Claire Holt and Casper Zafer on The Originals. Rebekah and Finn will be in the season premiere but only has part of a flashback storyline. In current day, Rebekah will still be in her new bodand Finn in his tailsman prison. The Originals does however promise that the flashback we’ll be unlike anything we’ve seen before.
It will cover the story of the Mikaelson brothers and sister having newly been turned vampires and on the run from Mikael after he murdered their mother Esther. Executive producer of The Originals, Michael Narducci says that the story will explore the family’s state of mind, their relationships and how they adjust to their new state of supernatural existence. Narducci says the way the tale will unfold will be both “surprising and interesting”.

But what do you think? Does this flashback story sound promising? Are you looking forward to seeing the “old” Rebekah and Finn or would you prefer them to return full-time and in present day?
