If you’ve been following the first season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, then you’re well aware of the tension between these Southern gals. If not, don’t worry because it appears like there’s more to come. The second season just premiered last night and not surprisingly the claws are already out.
Among those creating tension this season are NeNe Leakes and newcomer Kandi Burruss, who has already hinted that she doesn’t get along with the controversial housewife. Now, People.com digs up the dirt on what caused the clash.
“She called me ghetto at one point,” Kandi told People of NeNe. “She has a lot of nerve. Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?”
“I did not know her before the show and I still don’t know her now,” NeNe replied. “I think she was hearing negativity from somewhere else because she does not know me well enough to treat me the way that she does. But, it’s okay. I find that women who are very weak cannot stand up to a strong woman like me.”
On the other hand, Burruss begs to differ.
“Her mouth is just way too much. I cannot take the loud talking and the waving of the finger in your face,” Kandi said. “If you do that to me, I am ready to go after you.”
It seems that Kandi isn’t the type who will back down and that’s exactly the kind of housewife Bravo is looking for. The singer-song writer joined the second season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta as original cast member DeShawn Snow’s replacement because producers believed she was “too human for a circus show” and did not create enough drama.
Meanwhile, viewers can expect more drama from NeNe as she admits that she and first season sparring partner Kim Zolciak remain enemies.
“We are still not friends,” Leakes said. “Nothing has changed … A lot of people work with people they don’t like everyday. I am just one of those girls who work with people I don’t like.”
