The man in the hat is coming to The Voice. When it was announced that Cee Lo Green would not be returning as a coach on NBC’s The Voice, there was an open chair. Now it’s been filled as recent Oscar nominee Pharrell Williams has been named as his replacement.
Pharrell, whose giant hat has become a staple of his wardrobe in recent months, will join The Voice this fall as a permanent coach in season 7 alongside Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera.
As a producer and singer, he has earned seven Grammy Awards during his career and scored an Oscar nomination this year for “Happy” from Despicable Me 2. Being both a popular singer and producer should give him an edge in helping to foster talent and get the best out of his team members.
Back when it was first announced that Cee Lo was leaving The Voice, Pharrell was one of BuddyTV’s seven picks to be his replacement, so we couldn’t be more happy.
The Voice is currently airing its sixth season Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
