This week’s episode of The X Factor marks the end of Boot Camp and the start of the Judges’ Homes round. That means viewers will also finally meet the mentors of season 2 who all seem to look forward to become part of the FOX competition series.
As the show trims down this season’s hopefuls to 24, judges Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and L.A. Reid will each be assigned to categories that will determine which contestants will join their group. As mentioned previously, Justin Bieber will be mentoring Reid’s team, Nick Jonas will be mentoring Lovato’s group, will.i.am will join Spears while Marc Anthony will be paired with Cowell.
“I am really excited to have the opportunity to mentor the X Factor contestants,” Anthony said. “And I am looking forward to seeing them advance in the show’s new season.”
“I’m lucky to have some incredible mentors in my life, and I’ve always valued their opinions greatly,” Jonas said in a statement from Fox. “Being able to provide guidance for another artist, while working with the incredibly talented X Factor team, was an amazing experience. There’s some extraordinary talent out there and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of their journey.”
“When Britney asked me to come help mentor talent in the ‘judges’ homes’ round, it was an easy ‘yes,’ ” Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am revealed. “Some of the talent I’ve seen so far has blown me away — they’re out-of-this-world good.”

In other news, Cheryl Cole revealed that she sent harsh text messages to Simon Cowell after being fired from The X Factor. The English recording artist, who first left the UK version of The X Factor to judge the American version in 2011 only to be axed from the judging panel, was upset at Cowell for not having the guts to warn her about what was coming.
“I was furious with Simon for letting it happen like this. I believed we had a good friendship and I couldn’t understand why he just hadn’t been straight with me,” Cole revealed in her upcoming autobiography Cheryl: My Story.
Cole further revealed that she sent Cowell expletive messages in which she said: “F*** you, f*** Britain’s Got Talent, f*** the orange hair and purple outfit. F*** big hair. F*** the UK X Factor. F*** you all. I hate you. I understand you’re a businessman and what I’ve learned from this is that business means more to you than our friendship.”
Six months later, Cole reconciled with Cowell, who has even described his decision to let go Cole as “the worst mistake [he] ever made.”
