We’re still many months away from the season 5 premiere of True Blood in the summer of 2012, but the show is gearing up with its first big cast addition. British actress Lucy Griffiths (who played Marian on the BBC series Robin Hood) will join True Blood as a series regular for season 5 as Nora.
Nora is a very old vampire who has one very important thing in common with Eric: Godric is her maker. She is also working undercover within the Vampire Authority to take it down. Fans can expect plenty of movement on the mysterious, shadowy Authority in season 5.
True Blood season 5 will also bring back a number of past characters, as revealed in the season 4 finale. Michael McMillian will stick around as Reverend Steve Newlin, now a vampire, and Denis O’Hare will be back as Russell Edginton, whose cement grave was excavated at the end of season 4.
Viewers will also see Neil Hopkins as Claude, the brother of Sookie’s fairy godmother who helped her escape the evil fairy land in the season 4 premiere. He hasn’t been seen since, but between him and Andy’s fairy encounter in the woods, True Blood is clearly up to something with those glitter bombing creatures.
True Blood season 5 will return this summer.
