Sam and Dean are going to relive their childhoods on Supernatural. In the 15th episode of season 11, “Beyond the Mat,” the death of a professional wrestler Sam and Dean loved watching as kids brings them to the funeral and a possible case.
In this clip, Sam and Dean show up to the funeral filled with icons from their youth. While Dean is like a little kid meeting his heroes, tongue-tied and awkward, Sam takes a more sobering look. These once great wrestlers are now “broken,” battered and beaten by years of sports entertainment. It seems almost inevitable that this will be a metaphor for the Winchesters’ own futures after a long, hard life of hunting.
“Beyond the Mat” will also feature WWE superstar the Miz guest starring as a young upstart pro wrestler.
Supernatural airs Wednesdays at 9pm on the CW.
