Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles visited the CBS daytime show The Talk on Monday to discuss their 13th season. Supernatural is going strong on the CW, recently pulling in strong ratings for its Scooby Doo crossover episode and earning a renewal for season 14, which will include the show’s 300th episode.

The boys talked about the current season and various fan encounters. In addition, Jared discussed the details of the first meeting. Jared and Jensen were auditioning and quickly realized that they have a lot in common. And without much effort, they landed the lead roles of Sam and Dean Winchester. It probably didn’t hurt that when the show first started on the CW, they were both coming off prominent roles on two other hit WB shows: Jared on Gilmore Girls and Jensen on Smallville.
