The series finale of The Vampire Diaries is getting closer and closer, and fans can’t wait to see how this crazy story wraps up, particularly for Stefan, Damon and Elena. In a new teaser for the final episode, we get to see the moment when Elena first reunites with the Salvatore brothers. Elena is waking up at last, and it looks like her time spent in slumber hasn’t made her feelings for Damon falter. The second she and Damon see each other, they run into each others’ arms for the Delena moment we’ve all been waiting for. Stefan, eyes swelling with joy, welcomes Elena back into their lives.
Elena has been absent from Mystic Falls since the season 6 finale, when Kai cast a spell on her which said she couldn’t wake up until her best friend Bonnie died. He was very specific in saying that there was no way around this. Now that Elena’s alive, we have to wonder whether they found a way around this, or if Bonnie is, in fact, dead. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see how Damon and Stefan fill Elena in on everything that’s happened since she’s been gone.
With the series wrapping up, it comes as no surprise that the cast and crew are growing nostalgic. Watch showrunner and executive producer Julie Plec share her favorite moments on the set of The Vampire Diaries below:
Nina Dobrev’s pranks on the set of TVD have been well-documented on her social media, but Plec’s favorite prank was actually one played on Nina herself. While Nina thought she was one step ahead of the crew, they turned her mischief around on her, covering her with the cake she planned to attack everyone else with.
Plec goes on to share her favorite scene from the show and it’s an unexpected one. Find out what it was below:
Plec’s favorite moment in the show is one that broke many fans’ hearts. It was a heartbreaking scene when Elena cut things off with Stefan because of how in love she had become with Damon. Powerful, but definitely not the most pleasant moment in the show.
