Jimmy Fallon came to fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. Initially, he was a featured player and gradually progressed as a regular cast member. Recognized for his song parodies, he notably performed when Colin Quinn was doing Update and continued to perform on special occasions after he had replaced him. Appearing in 119 episodes from 1998 to 2006, he even became a co-anchor of “Weekend Update” with Tina Fey.
Fallon left Saturday Night Live to pursue a career in film. He starred in Factory Girl, a fictionalized drama about the rise to fame and downfall of the mid-sixties socialite Edie Sedgwick. In the said movie, Fallon portrayed the character Chuck Wein. The cast also included Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgwick, Guy Pearce as Andy Warhol, Hayden Christensen as a rock star based on Bob Dylan.
At present, Fallon has two movie projects lined up. The first is entitled Rockett, a comedy drama film about a man’s devotion to his work. However, his dedication to his profession leaves him no room for commitment to his girlfriend or anything else in his life. In Rockett, Fallon stars as the lead character Christopher Rockett, and is joined by other cast members such as Lucy Liu as Anne, Christopher’s girlfriend, Tom Arnold as Tom Rockett, Christopher’s estranged father, and Sharon Stone as Jane Rockett, Christopher’s mother. The said movie is scheduled for release in November this year. In addition, Fallon is being considered in the movie called I Dream of Jeannie, which will be slated for 2008. I Dream of Jeannie, a remake from the classic 60s sitcom, features Fallon as Major Anthony Nelson, who discovers a bottle with a beautiful genie in it.
