What is “Deliciousness” About?
With foodies, it’s always not just an obsession for good foods, there is also the love for reading cookbooks and watching cooking shows to learn new recipes — and of course, watching food fails for the fun of it and for the knowledge value it has.
The promo for “Deliciousness” reads, “The only thing people love more than delicious food is delicious food fails.” The official description further reads, “From food blunders to restaurant fails to kids in the kitchen and more, ‘Deliciousness’ celebrates our greatest indulgences — food and drink.”
Clearly, “Deliciousness” is about food failures. The show looks at viral videos on the internet that involve food and drink while the host and panelists comment on the food experiments in the videos.
Well, it’s safe to say that the show is hosted by foodies and for foodies — Kel Mitchell, one of the panelists confirms this. In an interview with Showbiz CheatSheet, Mitchell revealed, “Well, I’m a foodie, I love to eat. We love to cook here at the [Mitchell] house.”
Toothsomeness, lusciousness, and delectability are perfect synonyms that describe this TV series from the producers of the famous MTV show “Ridiculousness” which features Rob Dyrdek.
Is Rob Dyrdek Associated With “Deliciousness?”
Well, directly, the answer would be no since Rob Dyrdek isn’t a host on “Deliciousness” — neither is he the producer. However, since Dyrdek’s “Ridiculousness” inspired “Deliciousness,” you may also want to say he is associated with the show in a way.
Dyrdek is famed for MTV’s “Ridiculousness,” a comedy show that features viral videos of do-it-yourself stunt fails. The show has enjoyed wide acceptance for more than a decade and ultimately birthed spinoff series like “Deliciousness,” “Adorableness” and “Messyness.”
How Many Seasons and Episodes Are There of “Deliciousness?”
So far there have been two seasons of “Deliciousness” — 40 episodes in all. The show made its debut on December 14, 2020, airing briefly on Viacom-owned networks which include Comedy Central, CMT, Pop, and MTV2. Season one aired for 10 episodes with the finale airing on December 18, 2020. The show resumed for its second season on March 22, 2021, and aired 30 episodes — the finale aired on June 25, 2021.
In December 2021 MTV announced that “Deliciousness” would return for a third season alongside Messyness which was renewed for a second season — no release dates were mentioned. However, speculations have it that the TV show has been set for a September 26, 2022 premiere date.
You can expect to see more food failures when the new season of the TV series returns to MTV.
