Two weeks ago, CBS announced that they’d be putting the decision for Season 31’s cast into the hands of the fans. The fans voted and Jeff Probst read the results on tonight’s live Survivor Season 30 finale. The 20 chosen contestants then boarded a bus right from the finale stage to begin their journey to Cambodia, where they’ll all seek redemption in the form of a million dollars, and perhaps more importantly, bragging rights.
Survivor: Worlds Apart Finale Recap: And the Winner is…>>>
Here are the lucky contestants who Jeff Probst got to congratulate for making the cast for Season 31:
- Kelly Wiglesworth from Survivor: Borneo
- Jeff Varner from Survivor: Australia
- Kimmi Kappenberg from Survivor: Australia
- Andrew Savage from Survivor: Pearl Islands
- Terry Deitz from Survivor: Panama
- Peih-Gee Law from Survivor: China
- Stephen Fishbach from Survivor: Tocantins
- Monica Padilla from Survivor: Samoa
- Abi-Maria Gomes from Survivor: Philippines
- Ciera Eastin from Survivor: Blood vs. Water
- Vytas Baskauskas from Survivor: Blood vs. Water
- Kass McQuillen from Survivor: Cagayan
- Spencer Bledsoe from Survivor: Cagayan
- Tasha Fox from Survivor: Cagayan
- Woo Hwang from Survivor: Cagayan
- Jeremy Collins from Survivor: San Juan del Sur
- Keith Nale from Survivor: San Juan del Sur
- Kelley Wentworth from Survivor: San Juan del Sur
- Joe Anglim from Survivor: Worlds Apart
- Shirin Oskooi from Survivor: Worlds Apart
The 20 contestants were narrowed down from a larger pool of 32. That means that 12 other former survivors had to go home without getting another shot and most were visibly crushed at the reunion when they learned they’d be going home.
Some notable snubs were T-Bird from Survivor: Africa, Shane Powers from Survivor: Panama and Carolyn Rivera, runner-up from this season of Survivor: Worlds Apart.
But Jeff did reiterate that just because some went away empty-handed doesn’t mean they won’t get another shot. There could always be another “Blood vs.Water” or “Fans vs. Favorites” in the future.
